My name is Shelly Meyer. I have been in love with writing for as long as I can remember; from the moment I picked up a pen and paper.

In 2000, I began writing my first novel, Portland Authority. It took me five years to finish. Family and work and other life events kept getting in the way, but, in 2005, on my birthday, no less, Portland Authority was published under the name I was born with, Shelly Cahoon.

In December of 2008, I began writing my current novel, The Letter. It is now nearing the end of 2011, and I am still working on it. I put it off for a while to return to school for medical billing. Most of my time was taken up with studying and classes. When I found myself having a difficult time finding a job in medical billing, I began to ghost write for several different people, which brought in some money, but I still needed to work, so I tried my hand at talent management. Honestly, I don't think I was very good at it. I guess I'm not aggressive enough. Oh well! That's when I decided it was time to really buckle down and find a full-time job. While I've been looking for a job, I have continued to ghost write, then it dawned on me... I had been neglecting my novel. It was time to start working on it while I looked for a steady job and wrote articles.

I have to say, it's coming along very nicely, and I think before the end of the year, I may just be finished with it and talking to literary agents and publishers again.

I created this website to update my family, friends and fans on my progress of my book. I have finished writing The Letter and am currently looking for a literary agent and publisher. I have decided to make this book 21 chapters, which means there will be a sequel. I'm quite excited about it. Wish me luck!
